New Fabric Arrived!

This is the beautiful paisley I found to turn into the underskirt on my medieval gown. I will need to line it as it is a little stiff/itchy, but it would look beautiful adorned with beads or pearls. The trick to this one was finding a paisley that had a large pattern rather than a small one like modern prints so that it matches the paintings and costume woodblocks. The fabric, a gorgeous satin brocade, was found at Brick House Fabric a design store in Maine. Ah, the miracle of the internet! They work fast, and the fabric is as beautiful as in their pictures. When my camera (and the lighting) cooperates, I will take a picture of the blue wool with it to show just how well they go together. In the meantime…
